Robert Rugan is a two-time CLIO award-winning writer/director who moved from Alabama to New York City, then to sunny Los Angeles, where he is currently writing & directing both feature film and television projects.

He is currently writing and directing an ANIMATED FEATURE FILM for Netflix Animation, as well as writing an AI animated feature film for PROMISE STUDIOS.

In addition, he co-wrote the #1 Netlflix feature film, THE CURSE OF BRIDGE HOLLOW, wrote a 1-hr pilot based on his childhood growing up in the South entitled THE ADVENTURES OF BEAUREGARD THIBODEAUX (for HBO MAX, to be produced by Amblin Entertainment), wrote a LEGO franchise sequel/spin-off entitled THE BILLION BRICK RACE at Warner Brothers, wrote the initial drafts of the updated reboot of the 80's cartoon CHIP 'N' DALE RESCUE RANGERS at Disney, and adapted the screenplay for the children’s book series THE GENIUS FILES at Warner Brothers.

In television, he has created and written two one-hour series pilots: GENESIS 1 for ABC and THE FICTION (in partnership with Cirque Du Soleil) for Twentieth Century Fox. 

Commercially, he has worked with such clients as Google, Verizon, Kodak, Nikon, XGames, and Durex (which won Gold and Silver CLIO Awards, a CyberLion at Cannes, 4 AICP Awards (including the coveted "Humor" Category), and was nominated for the D&AD Award.)
