Robert Rugan is a two-time Clio Award-winning writer/director from Alabama whose work spans feature film, television, animation, live-action, and hybrid storytelling.

He is currently directing the animated feature THE HUMANS! (FROM PLANET EARTH) for Netflix Animation and writing TUNING IN, an AI-animated feature for Promise AI Studios. His feature credits include co-writing the #1 Netflix film THE CURSE OF BRIDGE HOLLOW, writing LEGO: THE BILLION BRICK RACE for Warner Bros., writing the initial drafts of CHIP ’N’ DALE: RESCUE RANGERS for Disney, adapting Dan Gutman’s THE GENIUS FILES for Warner Bros., and developing THE ADVENTURES OF BEAUREGARD THIBODEAUX, a live-action family adventure series for HBO Max with Amblin Entertainment, inspired in part by his Southern childhood.

In television, Rugan created and wrote the one-hour sci-fi drama GENESIS 1 for ABC Studios and wrote THE FICTION for Twentieth Century Fox Television, BOOM! Studios, in partnership with Cirque du Soleil. His commercial work includes campaigns for Google, Verizon, Kodak, Nikon, X Games, and Durex, earning major industry recognition including Gold and Silver Clio Awards, a Cannes Lion, four AICP Awards, and a D&AD Award nomination.
